Families and Schools Together
The Families and Schools Together (FAST) program is up and running again at Stephenville Primary for its fourth year straight! Sponsored by the Community Education Network in partnership with Stephenville Primary and Mental Health and Addictions Services, the program has received funding from the Community Addictions Prevention and Mental Health Promotion Fund.
A maximum of twelve families participate in 8 weeks of fun structured activities based on the importance of family time together. In our busy world, it is nice to have one evening per week that you can sit down with your family and relax. A FAST evening includes many components including songs, a meal, family activities, parent time, kid’s time, special play and much more.
The program will finish in mid-December at which time the participating families will join the FASTWORKS network that is comprised of families from the three previous FAST programs at Stephenville Primary.
FASTWORKS is parent-driven. This means that families who completed the FAST program come together to plan and implement monthly activities with support from the Community Education Network staff. The next meeting for FASTWORKS is on November 10th, when parents will plan for a Christmas Party!
