The Community Education Network

Power Up!

rightbannerSince 2008 the Community Education Network has teamed up with the Department of Advanced Education, Skills & Labour to empower adults 25 years of age and up with the skills and confidence to illuminate their career development pathway.

Power Up!, a transitional program, engages participants in a four-week pre-employment training, community service projects, followed by a six month, 930 hour subsidized work placement in the Bay St. George area. During this phase participants are encouraged to employ in interactive workshop training including WHMIS, First Aid, Communication and Team Building. Each is introduced to a variety of community resources from Western Health, Labour Standards Agency and AES, among others.
