“It Takes a Village”

In October 2011, the Rural Youth Drug Strategy (RYDS) will be hosting a two day prevention conference in Stephenville. In keeping with the project’s mandate, the conference will focus on youth issues related to substance abuse. We would like to provide our area youth the opportunity to both present their insights and be active partners in creating community-based solutions.  Parents, educators and community stakeholders are also welcome to take part as leaders and participants in breakout sessions to be held over the two day period.

Ideally, we are looking for individuals with unique experiences, perspectives and ideas to facilitate group discussion and planning as they relate to substance issues and a particular need or special interest such as mental health, gender or sexuality issues, aboriginal culture, social activism and rural life.
