CBC Pancake Breakfast a Success!
The CBC Pancake Breakfast for Homelessness was a huge success in Stephenville with the Bay St. George Women’s Shelter and Stephenville Emergency Food Services being recipients of donations made at the door. Along with donations, patrons were asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the food bank and get their name in on a draw for one of many prizes that were donated by College of the North Atlantic, Western Health, Community Education Network, Community Action Committee, Communities In Schools and the Community Youth Network. Through this effort, a large quantity of non-perishable food items was also given to Stephenville Emergency Food Services.
The Community Education Network expresses its sincerest gratitude to the Stephenville Lion’s and Lionesses for their knowledge, commitment and hard work in helping make this day the success that it was. Also assisting with the event were members of the Southwestern Newfoundland Housing and Homelessness Committee, Bay St. George Skills Link, Communities In Schools, and many other dedicated individuals.
The CBC Pancake Breakfast for Homelessness is an on-going event in the Province and although it was the first time hosted in Stephenville, CEN and the Southwestern Newfoundland Housing and Homelessness Committee hope to make the Pancake Breakfast for Homelessness an annual event.
