At least 36% of those who completed questionnaires in the Southwestern Newfoundland Housing and Homelessness Study noted they had moved at least once in the past 12 months. Some reasons include:
– Substandard Conditions
– Couldn’t afford both heat and rent
– Leaking roofs, doors and windows
– Drafts from doors and windows
– Mould, mildew and dampness
– Insect Infestations
– Space too small for the family
– They did not feel safe
– Rent was too expensive
