FAST Celebrates 5 years at Stephenville Primary!
On Wednesday, October 18th, the Community Education Network and Stephenville Primary held its first night of Families and Schools Together (FAST) Program for 2011. With eleven families participating in what is the 5th year that the eight-week program is being offered at the school, the total of families participating to date is over 50!
FAST is a program that provides an opportunity for families to come together and spend time with their own family, as well as other families in a supportive and fun environment. During the evening there are games, songs, a meal and other activities facilitated by a core team and supported by numerous dedicated volunteers.
Funding for the Stephenville Primary Families and Schools Together program has been provided through the Community Addictions Prevention and Mental Health Promotion fund.
The Community Education Network has been sponsoring the Families and Schools Together program since 2003, and has also provided training for the second year running to both a team and volunteers at Burgeo Academy.
