Tots and Caregivers Have Fun!

The facilitation of parent/child engagement in Tot’s Recreation Time has been on-going in Southwestern Newfoundland since 2001, and began as part of Understanding the Early Years for Southwestern Newfoundland research project. 

Community Education Network early years staff, and Community Action Committee Family Resource Centre staff, has continued to provide an opportunity for parents/caregivers and children up to the age of six to participate in fun based physical activities that encourage healthy lifestyle choices. 

In Stephenville Crossing and Lourdes, the program has received support over the past several years from the Western Regional Wellness Coalition to purchase healthy snacks for the event.  Healthy and active lifestyles can start at an early age, and can lead to healthy habits that can continue for a lifetime.
