Stand Up in Support of Victims of Crime Youth Conference a Success!

Southwestern Coalition to End Violence hosted the “Stand UP” in Support of Victim’s of Crime Youth Conference on the weekend of April 26-27, 2013. The conference was funded by the Department of Justice during National Victims of Crime Awareness Week.During the conference, Scott Hammell was the keynote speaker. Motivational Speaker and Magician, Scott did not disappoint. The participants and volunteers alike enjoyed the performer immensely.

There were activities as well on the first day of the conference, including a “Team Olympics” and a movie at the local movie theatre.

Saturday’s portion of the conference held a panel on Services and Supports available to victims of crime, workshops, and a closing keynote by Micheal Gaultois, a burn survivor, who always has a way of moving each and every person listening to him.
