Hands On Skills For Youth

Halloween brings on the images of ghost, ghouls, goblins and many other things to scare you such as Bay Theatre’s Annual Haunted House.  This year, Bay Theatre partnered with CYN to recruit volunteers.  Almost 80 youth participated and gave of their time to help the local community theatre group.  The group had lots of fun, scared a large number of patrons,  and were able to strengthen several different skills, such as Team Building and Public Speaking.  As a team they worked within groups creating different sets and acting as Halloween characters during the event.  Also tour guides practiced public speaking as they would lure patrons into the mists of the haunted house.  It was a very successful fundraiser for Bay Theatre and the group gave a lot of credit for its success to CYN and the youth.
