“Our Lady of the Cape and CYN Plan Bullying Awareness”

Mr. Ivany, Principal of Our Lady of the Cape, in partnership with CYN, is beginning preparations to roll-out a bullying awareness and pledge campaign in the New Year at the school.  The theme of the campaign is entitled “Attack the Facts: Let’s Make Bullying Hisss-tory” in keeping with the school logo which is Our Lady of the Cape Cobra’s.   At the planning meeting, everyone participated in the “Behind Your Back” team building exercise, completed a bullying questionnaire, shared stories, brainstormed ideas, and began the planning to make the concept of a bully-free school a reality.

Although there are designated times of the year for themed bullying and violence prevention awareness, students and staff know that issues relating to bullying are on-going and can only be “attacked” through coordinated and consistent  efforts.  The Cape Cobra’s understand that everyone has a responsibility to make schools a safe, caring and open environment where everyone feels respected and welcomed.

Next week is the last week of school before Christmas break therefore Our Lady of the Cape CYN would like to wish everyone a safe and wonderful holiday season!
