“Stand Up” Day – February 25, 2015
Bullying, Cyber Bullying (harassment), and Violence Prevention was on everyone’s minds as we proudly wore our pink T-shirts in advocating for peaceful communities, homes, and schools. Whether you were working, shopping, running errands or studying for an exam, the anti-bullying message was loud and clear: STAND UP!
During the entire month, all schools and communities participated in many activities which focused on self esteem, violence awareness, and anti-bullying. From Mental Health Week, to Respect Week, to Wellness Days, students truly embraced the need and clearly wanted safer spaces for themselves and their peers.
This initiative doesn’t end in one day, let’s continue to keep the wave of pink flowing in our hearts, minds, and attitudes. Together We Can Build Safe, Healthy and Caring Communities.
“Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one’s definition of your life; DEFINE yourself.” – Harvey Fierstein
