CEN AGM 2014-2015: A Year in Review
Celebrating Community Collaboration, the Community Education Network boasted standing room only at their 2014-2015 AGM. Over 100 youth, parents/caregivers, staff members and community partners gathered on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the Stephenville Middle School to commemorate another successful year with Community Education Network (CEN) & Associates.
Mark Felix, in his greetings from the Board of Directors, spoke of CEN’s commitment to the community and its promise to continue empowering and bettering its people. He left the group with the secret to a healthy mind and body:
- Sleep Well
- Eat Well
- Exercise
- Socialize
Keynote speaker, Dr. Barbara Barter, who spoke about the importance of community collaboration and the steps necessary to ensuring success, energized those attending with fun action songs leaving everyone excited for the day’s events.
With engaging keynote messages, interactive games and activities, along with informative sessions and a year in review slideshow, the Community Education Network’s Annual General Meeting was deemed a success by all in attendance. Executive Director, Bernice Hancock, thanked everyone for their participation in this year’s event. She highlighted “CEN’s commitment to life-long learning and sustainable, caring communities through the scope of services provided. From pre-natal support to its family resource programs; adult basic education to employment programs; housing support to mental health and addiction services-the network is committed to meeting identified individual and community needs through partnership development.”
