Linkages Program closes out successfully
It may have been a small group gathering but ambitions and aspirations were large.
On June 8, 2016 coordinators, presenters, employers, along with sponsoring and funding agencies representatives, gathered to celebrate the achievements of seven young people as they completed their Linkages program.
A client centered employment initiative of the Department of Advanced Education and Skills, in partnership with the Community Education Network, Linkages assisted these youth ages 18-29, from a variety of educational and social backgrounds achieve their career and employment goals.
Tyler Collins and Trevor Hoskins proudly announced that they will be staying on staff at their employment placements. While Krista Hynes announced her acceptance to Academy Canada’s Criminology program in September. Other participants, Deidra Benoit, Jesse Burroughs, Jordan Lafitte, and Jordan Snow are pursuing career goals and employment opportunities.
Several people spoke to the group and offered their congratulations while sharing their own personal experiences with the Linkages program.
Bernice Hancock, Executive Director of Community Education Network, and Christina Kendall of the Department of Advanced Education & Skills offered words of encouragement and inspiration to the participants as they advance on their new career paths.
