CEN supports Continuing Education
They say the proof is in the pudding, but in this case, the proof is in the name. The Community Education Network believes in education and continuous learning. With many of our programs centered on this concept from parenting programs such as Healthy Baby Club to Nobody’s Perfect to employment programs such as Linkages and Power Up!
Just as important as the offering of an educational opportunity, is the offering of a learning supported environment. Since its existence 25 years ago, CEN & Associates have always supported students in their work placements. beginning with one very familiar face when you enter the LS Eddy office on Gallant St.
Patti Spencer, our friendly Administrative Assistant, a graduate of the College of the North Atlantic’s Office Administration program, completed her work placement with the Community Action Committee, an associate of CEN, over 21 years ago. Today, she has her finger on the pulse of all that goes on inside the Community Education Network and its Associates and is happy to assist anyone.
Since Patti, dozens of students from several programs, including Business and Office Administration, IT programs and Community Studies from both the College of the North Atlantic and Keyin College have expanded their skills, job shadowed and received invaluable work experiences from working alongside the encouraging and supportive staff of CEN. While many continue their career paths with other places of employment, you never know when the next Patti may walk through the door.
