CEN Celebrates The Volunteer Factor: Lifting Communities
Statistics state there are over 200,000 volunteers in Newfoundland and Labrador- thirty-three of them were gathered in the boardroom at LS Eddy Memorial Complex on Friday, April 12, 2019. As a thank you for the work and commitment generously offered by their volunteers, the administration and staff of CEN held a Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon.
Over a bowl of hot chicken soup or tasty vegetarian chili, the group bonded with conversation and laughter as part of the national recognition of Volunteer Appreciation Week. MHAs John Finn and Scott Reid said a few words of thanks to both CEN and their volunteers for the continued work they do for the greater good of our community and local area. MHA John Finn, also noted that because of those 200,000 volunteers, Newfoundland and Labrador leads the country in volunteerism.
CEN & Associates Executive Director, Bernice Hancock, thanked everyone for their ongoing dedication to ensuring the success of CEN’s programs and services. Special thanks was offered to the staff who helped in organizing and preparing the event.
Longtime volunteer Dave Rex was joined by newcomer Morgan Legge in cutting the celebratory cake.
